xveruskax Posted September 17, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Gonna work at trying to recover the files in case they are corrupted during writing. Only seen on two pictures out of about 80 pictures. Currently formatted the SD card as ExFAT which I'm guessing is wrong. How should I be formatting an SD card for a Leica M10-P on a mac? irenedp Posted September 17, 2023 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2023 I’ve seen like this before. It might be the card reader. I would try an alternative one. The files might be ok

The files might be ok I discarded the pictures already and formatted SD card on mac as ExFAT but I can try next time on a macbook pro that has an SD card reader. Originally got pictures off using a card reader on an iMac. I haven't had issues with that before. Hopefully just a fluke for now but I'll keep an eye out. If it happens again, I'll have to get a proper card reader. Any recommendation?
irenedp Posted September 17, 2023 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2023 I use SanDisk readers for standard sd cards. Like the one below. Welcome, dear visitor! hepcat Posted September 18, 2023 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2023 ALWAYS format your SD cards IN the camera. Computer-formatted cards will usually work, but why tempt fate?
rramesh Posted September 20, 2023 Share #7 Posted September 20, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) The camera has only one format style in camera. On a Mac you have several options that might not be compatible with the camera reader/writer. Always format in camera. Also when you have to delete images, always do it in camera.
