The hood for the 35 Summilux, Leica part 12589, works fine and has several advantages over the stock hood and the hoods you link. The 12589 is much more compact than the stock hood and provides tighter flare protection with the M8 crop factor. Compared to the round screw-in hoods, its rectangular shape provides better flare protection; and it is attached to the barrel of the lens (not the threads) and provides better impact protection for the lens and any filter on the lens.

I just purchased a new 28-cron' so how is the lux' hood compared to the stock 28-cron' hood; smaller or perhaps less... in some other aspect?

Regards,

Daniel--

It is much smaller and the tighter shielding of the lens is possible because of the M8 crop factor. So, I use it simply because it is relatively unobstrusive and, if anything, fulfills its' purpose better.
