Nilje Posted September 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi to all the Pros out there who transfering images kind of like everyday to your Laptop or PC, not only to your phone. Is there any easy way to do so? The Leica Photos App via Wlan is perfect, but not useful for a bunch of images, only for a few. Can I transfer them via Wlan or Bluetooth to my Laptop? I have Windows, but I also couldn't find an easy way for Macbooks, so there is only the way to remove the SD Card and transfering the images via Cardreader? That's super annoying, especially if you have regularly the holder for a stative on the camera. Thanks! Nilje

Le Chef Posted September 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2023 I would always use a card reader dongle to transfer to a MacBook or iPad. Likely faster and safer, if the over the air transmission stalled or failed. 2

Should be as fast as SD-Card reader and no need to pull out the fragile card

I have a Q2 and I have a Q3 on order and wondering if I should switch to this method. If it is essentially the same it seems to me it would be a lot more convenient and safer in a few respects. Also, I am about to buy a Macbook air and it seems cleaner if I could just plug in a USB cable rather than adding on the SD card reader dongle. (I gather that is what you need to do with the Air model - no SD reader built in).
jps1 Posted September 17, 2023 Share #8 Posted September 17, 2023 Hello, Just put the Q3 in USB mode (Mass Storage.) The Mac sees it as a disk and it can recover files with a USB c cable.

andrewj Posted September 17, 2023 Share #10 Posted September 17, 2023 Why not just use the USB cable? I prefer it as it allows you to both transfer the files and charge at the same time. Also perhaps minimize wear on the SD card and the door for accessing the card.

OR attach a card reader and see what happens.
