Miles Siggins Posted September 2, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I'm relatively new to the Leica world, coming from Fuji to a Q and now a Q2. I'm having trouble finding the sweetpsot for the Exposure metering and AF mode settings. Wonder what people use for genral photography and for street. Any pointers greatly appreciated! Many Thanks. ianforber Posted September 2, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2023 I use highlight weighted metering and field focus using the smallest box, although for street I probably use manual zone focusing half the time. Most of the time I use continuous low shutter (AFc) but the shutter button is sensitive enough to let me choose whether to take a single picture or 2-3 shots. Sometimes I dial in around -1/3 stop underexposure as well as using the highlight weighted metering depending on how harsh the light is.
Marc B-C Posted September 2, 2023 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) For AF, I use the smallest field focus box and move it around as suited on my Q2. For metering, I switch between either highlight weighted (which occasionally loses the energy from any photo, irrespective of shadow recovery in post) and multifield metering. If the latter, I have -2/3 stop underexposure dialled in as standard and adjust to taste. I have 5 user profiles saved down for Tripod, Flash, Daytime (x 2 scenarios) and Evening. luetz Posted September 2, 2023 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2023 General set-up for me is AF-Aperture control, lock AE to highlight re-compose and Trigger, only using Spot metering....
