Cases like this were common and were used for many purposes. Looking at the size and shape of this, it may be for a viewfinder. Does this one have a loop at the back for use on a belt or strap? William

Giuliobigazzi Posted September 1, 2023 Author Share #5  Posted September 1, 2023 Tried the viooh and it’s not it, that’s a different shape with more of a pointy end. This doesn’t have a loop on the back like the viooh case. The slooz case is similar but has a flat bottom, unlike this which is cilyndrical. too short for a Vidom too..

Try an SBOOI if you have one. William
Giuliobigazzi Posted September 1, 2023 Author Share #7  Posted September 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not for sbooi or sbloo, however 39mm filters fit nicely so that might be the likeliest use for it. alan mcfall Posted September 5, 2023 Share #8  Posted September 5, 2023 These leitz wetzlar measuring eye pieces seem to have come in both red paper boxes and leather cases. Perhaps your case was for something similar. These are 8x power with a viewing scale of 10mm width with 100 small divisions for about 0.1mm resolution. Note, my leather case is not round, but slightly rectangular, so not identical.  Welcome, dear visitor!
