Hi there,

any recommendation for a flexible polarizer setup?

my lenses include the 18mm/Super Elmar, 24mm/f2.8, 28mm/Summicron, 35mm/Summilux ASPH., 75mm/Summarit

have never had one for my Leica’s, so about time since I do a lot of landscapes while hiking

recommendations highly appreciated

bye - Peter

I've used a variety of circular polarizers from various manufacturers with my Leica lenses. To me they all seem to do an adequate job and since you have live view you don't have to worry about the fiddling old analog users with just a RF have to contend with.

The 13356 is the swing out polarizer for M cameras. Designed to be used with film cameras, the polarizer swings in front of the viewfinder and then you can adjust to the desired effect. A full set comes with the polarizer and rings in 39 and 46mm.  They work well but they're fairly expensive.

Get a filter with the diameter of the larger lens and one or two set-down rings.

My 52 mm Hoya goes on 4 lenses .

I had the older swing-out polarizer from Leica and used it occasionally. The current one would work just as well.

For landscape work, adding a polarizer to a very wide angle lens could introduce unwanted variations in the amount of polarizing of the scene. Remember that polarization is strongest at 90° from the light source.
