stunsworth Posted November 16, 2007 Share #21 Posted November 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Claus, you won't be disappointed. I use the 24mm in conjunction with a 35mm Summicron and they made an excellent combination.
Advertisement Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here 24mm lenses recommendation. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
@bumac Posted November 16, 2007 Share #22 Posted November 16, 2007 I use the Zeiss 25 and I like it very much. I have changed the mount and Milich has coded it. Great lens, which I use together with the Summilux 1,4/35 pre Asph.
pascal_meheut Posted November 16, 2007 Share #23 Posted November 16, 2007 Another vote for the 24mm Leica if you can afford it. It is really, really good on the M8.

sean_reid Posted November 16, 2007 Share #25 Posted November 16, 2007 Sean, please don`t get me wrong! Your hint is much appreciated and I just wanted to make sure I was looking at the right place. I read some of your reviews already and liked them much, actually much better than those datasheet-style reviews. Cheers It's tricky because very often I see questions on the board which really are covered quite thoroughly in my articles. But I usually say nothing because if I do there's often somebody popping up and suggesting that my reply is solely for promotion...yada, yada. I do this reviewing professionally and so it costs money to read my work. But, that question aside, much of what's on that site is extremely relevant to people working with DRFs. If it was on LL, I'd mention it far more often because there wouldn't be the shadow of commercialization hanging over each of my posts relating to site these articles. Old timers on this list (like LCT, etc.) know that I was very active here for years before I started RR. I began contributing when we were all trying to figure out how to get the best from the Digilux 1. So, anyway, if you want to see how those three lenses compare, check out that article. And, yes, virtually, everything I write professionally now is on that site so that is where you'd find the 24/25s reviews. I'm now writing perhaps 15 x the amount of content that I was when I was writing for LL. And, like anything else, the almost daily practice is improving my reviewing, choices of method, etc. Best is subjective but my favorite 24/25 mm lens, with respect to drawing, is the current Leica. Cheers, Sean
