Maklen Posted August 27, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, my dad was collecting and restoring Leica’s. I got this one in his estate. Could you please help me identify this one. Thank you. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Advertisement Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Hi Maklen, Take a look here Leica III identification. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Anbaric Posted August 28, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2023 (edited) It looks like a Leica II from the first batch made in 1932. https://wiki.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/Leica_II_(model_D) Post some photos from the front with no lens mounted and the bottom with the baseplate removed to confirm. LocalHero1953 Posted August 28, 2023 Share #3 Posted August 28, 2023 The Leica Wiki in this forum (see the menu bar) is a good resource. See this page and the serial numbers listed there.
Anbaric Posted August 28, 2023 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2023 More photos can be helpful in case of fakes, though this one doesn't have (e.g.) the telltale bulge at the front of the rangefinder cover that gives away most copies derived from Soviet cameras.
