Following on from my D-Lux7 vs Q2 thread....I went for the Q2.

8 months old, traveller pack, mint condition, 2yr 4mth warranty still remaining, bought from Leica Manchester who were superb.

Few days in and it's fabulous, it's a massive learning curve (prior experience limited to SLR & DSLR well over 10yrs ago) - but I'm loving playing with it and it's settings. Interior pictures still coming out quite dark so trialling all sorts shutter speeds/ISO settings, but outdoor & macro works coming really naturally. I've got a 1-2-1 tutorial from Leica Manchester next week, and do plan do do some more structured learning, perhaps online/perhaps in person.

I'm very happy....just need to find more time between demanding life stuff to get to know it a little more.

So my question....what tips does anyone have?

I've downloaded LightRoom and played around with that, plus the Leica App and paired the phone successfully.

Is it worth getting a flash? Anything else?

Thanks in advance.

Shoot RAW or RAW+Jpg. The rest of my comments are all related to RAW files....

For exposure I use highlight weighted and expose to just short of clipping.  One would think highlight weighted would already do that, but it sometimes could be better.

Don't worry about a flash until you know you need it. I've never used one with my Q or Q2. If you find too much high iso noise, DXO Pure Raw 3 will clean that right up. but getting enough light to the sensor really helps keep that from happening. Don't be afraid of using the 35/50mm frame lines.. Inside of Lightroom you can recrop if you're not happy with the framing later.
