SoCalLeicanator Posted August 20, 2023 Share #1  Posted August 20, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pretty much summed up in the title. I am curious to know if it leads to more fraying, warps it or does nothing. Thanks!
Advertisement Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Hi SoCalLeicanator, Take a look here Reporter owners, what happens to the Kevlar if it gets wet?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hdmesa Posted August 21, 2023 Share #2  Posted August 21, 2023 I never soaked it, but I used to clean my Reporter aramid fiber cladding (Leica stopped using the Kevlar name) with a damp microfiber cloth to help turn it more black again – no ill effects.
algrove Posted August 30, 2023 Share #3 Â Posted August 30, 2023 Never clean as I want it to look brassed. Oh, I mean used.
LocalHero1953 Posted August 30, 2023 Share #4 Â Posted August 30, 2023 I had my Q2 Reporter (about 18 months old) out in the rain a couple of days ago. I haven't seen any colour change as a result. A part of mine (bottom LH corner as you look from the front) is starting to fade to a mid-light green, but not much). It's probably where it sits in the palm of my left hand (with fingers round the aperture ring). No fraying though. Leica said that the material would fade to a green - I've been waiting for this to happen!
