Content, quality, ease of use, look, etc. How effective are the manuals in helping you "come to grips" with the camera? After having read the C-Lux 2 and Digilux 3 manuals, I have my own opinion, but before I rant, I'd like to give others the chance to praise or to vent. Errors, omissions, inconsistencies, points of confusion? Make your comments general or specific. If specific, please mention the particular manual and, possibly, a particular page. lmr Posted November 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 14, 2007 John: C-Lux 2 and Digilux 3 Manuals are from Panasonic. They use the same manuals and changed the names to protect the innocent. They are okay, slightly confusing until you are familiar with the camera through using it. (Catch 22 right?) The M and R manuals are easy to read... maybe M8 has abit more information. The film M and R manuals, you read or glance through it once, you put it away and you very seldom, sometimes never, pick it up again. It is a simple camera to use. Mine are still in the box. Thank you, John Sorry John, You bought a Leica, at a considerable premium over a nigh equivalent Panasonic, so I think you're free to voice your frustation with our hosts. But I had to download the .pdf user's manuel in french AND english for M8 before some details have turned clear enough. The english one seems to me more reliable. One point has definitely kept its secrets far from my understanding : the renumbering of files and pictures. I have spent quite long moments on the subject, asking help to english speaking natives on the matter. No way, it's still unclear in my mind. leicapages Posted November 24, 2007 Share #13 Posted November 24, 2007 I don't have experience with the manuals for the latest digital goods but speaking of manuals for M6/M7 and R8/R9 I don't have major gripes with them at all.
