PeterKelly Posted August 5, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 5, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) One thing I have found strange with Q cameras is there is no simple one button press to re center the focus point. I know you can tap the screen but I don’t find this method easy or intuitive. I’m a pretty well exclusive EVF shooter and move the focus point around constantly when shooting. When I first used a Q camera I was sure I was missing some obvious way or button to re center the focus point but a Google search confirmed it’s just not available on these cameras, My question is why? I can’t think of any camera I have used that doesn’t have a button push to re center the focus point. Is there a specific reason for this on these cameras or is it just a Leica “thing”? i

JoshuaR Posted August 6, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2023 I don't know why there's no button, but I find the double-tap-the-screen method very useful. Is that what you mean by tapping the screen? I shoot in EVF Extended mode, and I just use the thumb of my right hand to double-tap the screen and recenter the point.
PeterKelly Posted August 6, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted August 6, 2023 I will give that a try but I wish I wasn’t a left eye shooter…..

Steven_nl Posted August 7, 2023 Share #5 Posted August 7, 2023 I agree. Using the centre button should be an option. Double tapping the screen works, but it is logical when you use the arrow Keys to move the AF point to use the centre button to recenter.
