Almizilero Posted July 19, 2023 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Right, there is a day for just about everything and today, it seems, was “Stick Out Your Tongue Day”. I took this as an incentive to go out, finally overcome my timidity and approach people on the street to take their picture. Well, it is hard work (here in Germany). I approached SO MANY PEOPLe, very few wanted to have their picture taken, even fewer wanted to do something “crazy” like stick out their tongue ... But here are the few results I could get. Nachtmsk Posted July 20, 2023 Share #2 Posted July 20, 2023 interesting that in Germany people are shy about getting photos taken. Next time I'm there I'll have to try it. I walk up to people all the time and ask them here in the US and they usually say yes. I think the photo of the girl with the Moose Antlers wins. Definitely captures the mood!

Almizilero Posted July 21, 2023 Author Share #4 Posted July 21, 2023 Thank you! I wanted to do this for quite a while, but always was to shy to approach people. Then sometimes I would look back and think damn, that person looked so great right there, why didn't I just ask? When I finally did it, I was afraid that I would be put off if the first person said no, but surprisingly, that wasn't the case. I just asked the next and the next ... It actually made me ask more people because a) I noticed that a No doesn't hurt and b) I wanted a win After a while, I just was in the flow. I'll definately try to do this more often. Just watched a video from a German youtuber who interviewed a seasoned street photographer and watched him work. I think I learned a couple of things about how to approach people. But also that even he with years of experience and a very open approach had to deal with a rather low success rate:
