I tried to rewrite my old VSCO (profiles only for M9 left) profiles like in this video everyone is talking about some years ago:

I did everything like its said but LR classic always give me an error that the profile file which i want to import is damaged or not supported.

Either, I did a failure writing the HEX code or it is simply not possible to change the file for my M11 DNG's.

Anyone's having the same issue? Can't find anything here or in the www.

Thanks in advance.

D

The original files contained versions that were also camera independent.  They just used "Adobe Standard" or "Adobe Standard B&W" as the color profile.  Those should work fine  There are places that have the files posted if you somehow only have the camera specific versions.  If you use the generic versions, they work with the M11.  Well, I had an M11 Monochrom to test them on for a few days and they worked fine with that. I also use them with my SL2-S.  I like the look better if I apply the preset and then go and select embedded camera profile for the SL2-S and also drop the contrast a bit.

It's interesting that they completely dropped making those.  I have used Mastin presets, RNI, etc. and I still think VSCO has the best versions of the films I like best, Tri-X 400 and Portra 400.

VSCO abandoned their customers - check out Really Nice Images (RNI) for a comprehensive up to date set of film sims.

Mastin Labs are also worth a look.

I would add Cobalt Images as a potential alternative, esp. their new ‘Elite’ packs. I have many Mastin presets and they are optimized for wedding and similar work, not as general purpose as I would like. RNI is good but may be too much focused on ‘emulation over looks’, e.g. dark shadows.
