As mentioned elsewhere, the Arca compatible lens foot provided with the new Leica 100-400mm zoom will fit perfectly on the 90-280mm as well, providing a much lower profile than the original foot.

If anyone is interested, the new foot is available from Leica Customer Care as a spare part, at least in the UK so presumably across Europe as well.

Thanks for the information, I use for my 24-90 & 90-280 the Novoflex-Adapter but will search for this part from the 100-400lense for the 90-280

yesterday the 100-400foot arrived from LeicaWetzlar. Not cheap, but it fits perfect on my 90-280-lense.

In the picture you see the new feet from 2 views and the "old" foot with "Arca-"AddOn (bit, not stable) and the Novoflex-solution (high-quality and perfect fit for the 24-90&90-280) and I will use it in the future only on my 24-90. thanks @Osiris23for this information last week!

@robb but one that was a one piece would be a greater add…, absolutely see the picture

Yes! I am avoiding it…thousands of tourists a day and toxic smoke. No thank you. I am up in the highlands with the 90-280 and a bulky tripod foot that barely fits in the lens bag, lol. I saw the last eruption though. They are very cool, but the spectacle of people behaving like lunatics and practically climbing into craters, taking selfies facing away from the eruption as lava bombs crash nearby…it’s just kind of distressing.
