I just bought a nice condition T plus 23mm TL Summicron and Sigma 16mm f1.4 Contemporary. So far I like it but it has a few quirks.

At first I mounted the wrist strap but there’s no place to rest my thumb because of the dials. Touching the dials changes the settings. It’s unavoidable. I have the 020 Viso so can’t use a Thumbs Up. I now use the neck strap.

I went out shooting today and between shot let the camera hang around my neck so it rubbed against my stomach. I pick it up for a shot and see nearly all my settings have changed: WB, Jpg, exp comp., etc., and one of the dials the right one is locked and I went to the menu but couldn’t figure out how to unlock it.

So unable to unlock that dial I reset the camera. I then input everything again starting with language, time zone, time etc. this time I saved the profile. And I switch off the camera when not using it.

At home I realised when I reset the camera the SD card was wiped clean. My 4th of July trip to Seattle and Oregon photos all gone. Oops! Didn’t expect that.

The Viso is pretty useful but when I put it to my eye there’s an uncomfortable lag. Is there a way to turn off the display and just use the EVF?

To prevent accidental changing of the settings if the touch screen presses against anything, there is a small downward facing chevron in the top right of the screen. Drag this down to lock the settings and drag it back up again to unlock it.

I had a similar mishap as you while I was travelling in Greece a few years ago. I didn’t reset the camera however so images were saved. Many of my settings had been changed though!
