TheGodParticle/Hari Posted July 8, 2023 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was shooting fireworks with the M7, loaded Cinestill 800 and manually set the ISO dial to 6400. 20 shots into the roll, the shutter became unresponsive. Turned the camera off and on a few times, didn’t help. Took the batteries out and put them back in, didn’t help. Even unmounted the lens and put it back on with no luck. Lens was the 50/0.95, aperture was set to 0.95. Shutter was on Auto mode, I was shooting at 1/125, so not a case of long exposure. Turned the shutter dial clockwise and anti clockwise a few times and heard the shutter fire. After this, the camera works normally again. So if someone’s M7 shutter becomes unresponsive, all other factors appearing normal, try rotating the shutter dial clockwise and anti clockwise a few times, it may help. 1

Huss Posted July 9, 2023 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2023 Have you only had this happen w Cinestill 800? I mention this because when I use this film in my M7, there is something in the pattern on the film canister that effects the DX reader (the canister is not DX labelled) resulting in a DX error code message ISO 5000. Even if you set ISO manually. So while the camera does shoot at the ISO you manually have set, I’m wondering if the ISO 5000 message results in a random glitch. Hi Huss, Yes, only happened with Cinestill 800. I’ve been using this particular body and lens combination with other film stock and had no issues. We don’t miss it on the MP or M6. And especially not on the M-A…. Edited July 9, 2023 by Huss
Anbaric Posted July 10, 2023 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2023 Is that with the later optical reader, or the original type?

I get the 5000 message if I use Cinestill 800 with the latest/most recent DX reader on both my M7s - 3XXX and 4XXX serial #s. Not sure about Hari's.
