erniethemilk Posted July 6, 2023 Share #1 Posted July 6, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hypothetically, as a hobbyist with a Nikon Z7II and a bunch of lenses, would you sell/trade those to get a Q2 Monochrom. I shoot quite a bit of landscape and woodland, and mainly use my M10-P. Quite often when I’m out I just take the Z7ii and a 28mm Z f2.8 as I don’t want to carry zoom lenses around with me. Trying out the Q2M has got me thinking.
Advertisement Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Hi erniethemilk, Take a look here Nikon Z7ii to Q2M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted July 6, 2023 Share #2 Posted July 6, 2023 Only if you use just a 28m lens on your Nikon, and only take mono images.
darylgo Posted July 6, 2023 Share #3 Posted July 6, 2023 The sensor in the Q2M is a generation behind, otoh you gain the lack of a bayer filter. If you like the z7ii and it’s sensor, perhaps a modification to a monochrome would give you the best of both worlds?
Miltz Posted July 7, 2023 Share #4 Posted July 7, 2023 If you like the 28mm 2.8 you might love the 26mm 2.8 more. It’s much sharper, especially in the corners. I definitely would go from a Z7ii to a Q2M, unless you love how the Q2M feels and you enjoy using it more. Image quality wise, the Q2M is better but by the smallest margin. The person who said the Q2M sensor is a generation behind is false, it’s an amazing sensor and will beat the Z7ii in a cases, but again by a small margin except the highest of ISO’s.
