Drtmw Posted June 15, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 15, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have tried several times to connect my new (to me) Q2 to my iPhone Leica fotos. Following all directions, and in progress screens all seem ok until it just says it cannot pair. I have reset my Bluetooth and pairing the Q2 to my ipad Leica Photos went exactly the same but succeeded at first try. I will be grateful for ideas. running iOS 16.5 and Leica fotos 2.1.1 thanks in advance, Tom tmwhitmore - at - me.com

Gazza B Posted June 15, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2023 Hi Tom, I had, and still have the same issues. I have solved this though for my particular circumstances. First, with the app open I swipe down- as it instructs you. then click connect, I think then you are invited to join the network so do this. Then I get a message saying unable to connect. But keep going. Click ok or join again and then mine does connect. Its as though I have to do the process twice every time but I always manage to connect. Hope this is helpful for you and it works. Let me know. Gary
bjamisonf Posted June 16, 2023 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2023 If you have a VPN, be sure to turn it off before trying to connect. In my VPN, I'm able to mark my Q2 as a trusted network. I hope it works.
Le Chef Posted June 16, 2023 Share #4 Posted June 16, 2023 I wouldn’t waste my time. It’s slow and flaky. Not worth it. If I want to transfer files from my Q2 or CL, I use a card reader. It’s faster and safer.
JessD Posted October 23, 2023 Share #5 Posted October 23, 2023 I had same issue with iPhone 12 and Leica Q2. I deleted the Leica FOTOS app from the 'phone, downloaded the current version from the App Store and re-connected. All working fine now - remote control, geotagging et al. The transfer speed to the Fotos app is much faster on the Q3. Overall the connection between camera and iPhone 14 has been faultless for me. thegobi Posted October 23, 2023 Share #8 Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) For a Q2 (mine is a Mono) a card reader is definitely a lot quicker - if you are transferring to an iPhone or iPad, the Apple Card readers are pretty snappy. If you have the time, transferring to the app has a few advantages: Geo location works and I quite like the single tap workflow from the Leica app to Lightroom. Just do your uploads in multiple shorter sessions - trying to upload hundreds of images at one time with the app is a path to madness. Sometimes you don’t want to take a card out in the wild… Edited October 23, 2023 by thegobi
jps1 Posted October 23, 2023 Share #9 Posted October 23, 2023 When you are outdoors and want to quickly send a photo to friends, Leica Fotos and an iPhone is fabulous.
dnease Posted October 23, 2023 Share #10 Posted October 23, 2023 Primary benefit for me has been geotagging, which has improved greatly with the recent Fotos update. Also I think updates on the iOS side may have had an impact.

Yes, and you can even edit the photo in Lightroom Mobile before sharing it.
jps1 Posted October 24, 2023 Share #12 Posted October 24, 2023 Yes, I can even modify the photo, but I use Capture One Mobile. In this case I don't need my Capture One on Mac. I think we can do the same with Lightroom Mobile.

hetoog Posted October 9, 2024 Share #14 Posted October 9, 2024 I eventually succeeded by installing new firmware ((5.1.0) on the camera After that it still didnt work so i did a reset of the camera (main menu 5) there you have options and choose reset of bluetooth and wifi!! kind of frustrating but sometimes you need it and you keep trying
