paul chiu Posted June 15, 2023 Share #1  Posted June 15, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ordered a few accessories as I wait for the Leica Q3. One (not necessary for the Q) was the Leica leather wrap. It really is soft and strong. It should protect the Q or any Leica lens pretty well during travel. 100% genuine leather here, not the composites popular these days. Welcome, dear visitor! liggy Posted June 15, 2023 Share #2  Posted June 15, 2023 (edited) Nice!  Didn't even know that was a thing.  I've been using the Tenba wraps for that job and tossing lenses in my carry on etc. https://tenba.com/tenba-tools-20-inch-protective-wrap-lime/ Edited June 15, 2023 by liggy
darylgo Posted June 15, 2023 Share #3  Posted June 15, 2023 Been using it for carrying an M240 with a 50mm Summilux in a backpack. Overall it works well, it's very quick to wrap and throw into the pack. Shows wear quickly, creases and such. It is the thinnest protection that will guard against anything but drops and liquids.

It's best to get one used.
darylgo Posted June 15, 2023 Share #5  Posted June 15, 2023 Like a well worn black paint body it has an appeal when wrinkled with wavy edges, the difference is the M body takes years to wear and as you said "a day or two" for the worn leather look. I'm not using the strap, it has a less than quality feel, much less than the Artisan and Artist Camera Pouch. These two items can be used interchangeably for an M with most small to medium size lenses.
paul chiu Posted June 15, 2023 Author Share #6 Â Posted June 15, 2023 The A&A was really thick, rather good value compared with Leica's. The Leica 18549 works well with Q2 into one of the smaller shoulder bags. I really like the ones from Oberwerth.

Guest Posted June 15, 2023 Share #8 Â Posted June 15, 2023 Wow! I got one of these included when I bought the Q2 Traveller edition a couple of months ago. I wasn't sure what it was for, so I've been using it as an upmarket hanky. Guess I better wash it and treat it with more respect!

The leather A&A is very thick, the cloth version is more comparable to the Leica cloth, thinner and can be compacted (wound) for storage.
