elviskennedy Posted November 12, 2007 Share #21 Posted November 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thoughts on AWB (Average White Band)? "Pick up the Pieces" was a great song. As for Leica's white balance - it's much flakier than my Nikon D2X but not too much trouble if shooting RAW. But the pink hue I get on skin tones with the M8 and 28 f2.8 is difficult to correct for. DaveSee Posted November 12, 2007 Share #24 Posted November 12, 2007 AWB defies thinking, defines reacting... much cleaner to have gotten WB "wrong" manually for one hundred shots, and batch process accordingly, than to wade through one hundred shots to correct all of them to an undefined, indeterminate value. If one is meant to shoot digital, then WB is correspondingly a determinent in desired outcome... why else would Grey Cards, Color Bars, or ExpoDiscs find use at all? Ah, yes, the camera should determine the color balance of a given scene... ah, no, not on my watch! rgds, Dave
