Hi Jeff, I contacted IP and found that it would cost me $2.5K USD to cover my two 17" printers and the 24" Epson with the ImagePrint Black option/plan ............About what I paid for the new Epson SC-P6000, so a little bit too rich for me seeing that I am reasonably happy with the present set-ups and I really don't need a RIP to be able to print multiple images at the same time on the same sheet of paper, I don't have need for that facility.

Adding insult to injury I'd also have to add 20% VAT on that when the order hits the EU.

Maybe the Red plan would work, but I'm going to give both a trial soon anyway.

My printing is like yours, pretty much all B&W and really only two papers both of which I have good profiles for from the UK paper supplier.

Interestingly though IP still had record of my previous purchase of more than 15 years ago...........Apparently back then I did have the equivalent of the Black plan.

Cheers !

Only the Black plan provides paper profiles. No way I’d buy RED; good profiling gear alone would cost about 50% more than IP Black for my printer. I like using, and trying, multiple papers; far easier and more flexible than in my darkroom days. I never print multiple images on the same page; has nothing to do with the benefits I derive from IP, which I’ve described elsewhere.

Ok, good to know Jeff...........I have a couple of trips to the US coming up so maybe one would be a good opportunity to have a longer chat with John again at IP and try to sort out what really could work for me. I think with the price of ink and papers, especially when one likes to print large if the images warrant that, any good tools that can help you get consistency in what you are going for are good to have. Thank you for nudges....all noted and taken aboard!

John and his team provide great support; one of the reasons I like IP.  Each person has different needs, goals and preferences. I use only a small fraction of IP’s capabilities, but the parts I do use significantly enhance my print workflow.

Have fun exploring your own path, regardless if IP again becomes an integral part.

This one is very good to have a rigourous methodology in your catalog and development.
