Q3 threaded shutter release can’t be used with cable!

I agree - that wasn't my point - my Canon R5 has an electronic shutter release with its own socket and can be shot remotely using a phone app - I would expect a firmware update to provide an electronic shutter release (in addition to a phone app) via the HDMI or USB C sockets. I was trying to say that I would imagine most manufacturers nowadays would go electronic rather than mechanical especially on mirrorless designs - and that may be Leica's thinking in this case - NOT that their intention for the threaded shutter button was anything other than to allow the use of a soft button.
