burkey Posted November 10, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted November 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone had any experience with the Olympus 14-42mm on their Digilux 3. I'm seriously thinking about it especially for travel. I've had some pretty good luck thus far with the lens that came with the D3 but size matters, (if you'll pardon the expression), for me when traveling. Any images would be most gratefully appreciated. 'Sorry for such a specific thread but this lens appears to get good press and it's in my price range. Thanks. Advertisement Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Hi burkey, Take a look here Digilux 3 and the Olympus 14-42mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
goodbokeh Posted November 10, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted November 10, 2007 Olympus, like Leica, has its roots in microscopes which bode well for optical quality. That being said, stay with the Leica D 14-50mm on your travels because of the Panasonic OIS technology incorporated into the Leica designed lens. Resolution will be superior. Bo_Lorentzen Posted November 10, 2007 Share #3  Posted November 10, 2007 I have both, honestly, you want to take the Leica lens for your trip, it is equally sharp, but it is also stabilized, meaning much more successful shooting in low light which you can easily find on a trip.  You already have the better lens for your camera.   Bo  Zenfolio | Bo Lorentzen
burkey Posted November 11, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted November 11, 2007 Thanks for the input. You've got me thinking I'll put up with the lens size for the quality it has. Again, I appreciate the advice.
