TripH Posted May 6, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) When carrying my m11, I typically have the strap over my shoulder and leave the camera body to hang down by my thigh -- lens-side out. Was walking-along and felt something metallic come loose -- yea, the diopter. That's the second time. Note: I typically walk five+ miles with the camera, so YMMV. I tighten it with quite firm thumb pressure, but figure a small dab of purple 222 Loctite (the weakest) may be the way to go. Again, YMMV.

colint544 Posted May 8, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2023 I've lost two diopters off my M5, over the years. Man, that really hurts. Ruins your day. It's like losing £100 out of your back pocket, plus the additional hassle - and another £100 - of getting a replacement. It's made me paranoid, always checking diopters are tight. Glad you didn't lose yours.
84bravo Posted May 8, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2023 (edited) I put a (very) small dab of blue loctite on the threads all of my diopters on various M bodies. I've lost too many of them at $200 a pop. I let the loctite dry before I screw the diopter in. Makes it easier to remove but still holds tight.
