Here is a shot of the beautiful Neuchwanstein Castle in Germany taken with the wondrous 135 APO Telyt.

In order to finance the M8 body last Novermber, I elected to sell the following near-mint gear: M7, 90mm Apo-Summicron and 135mm Tele-Elmar (f4). I don't really miss the 90mm since I have a 75mm Summicron but I'm surprised how much I miss my 135 Tele-Elmar! ( I think I sold the T-E for around US$450.00.)

A clean 135mm T-E should be very usable indeed with an effective equivalent mag of 180mm. Just anticipate an image area a little larger than the small r/f rectangle in the center of the v/f and start shooting.

You're right, Carsten, really the last version of the Tele Elmar LACKS the capability to remove the lens head... and this precludes the numbers of configurations you can achieve with Viso-rings-extenders-bellows... a pity... I do not know if the last version is different (better ?) on the optical side... surely has a different filter thread.

I believe that the only version of the Tele-Elmar that does not have a removeable head is the final version with the integrated (pull-out) lens hood. Optically, however, they are the same.

The version with the integral hood was produced in very low numbers and is often priced at collector-like levels for that reason.
