Paco Rosso Posted April 23, 2023 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bateries at 100%. In veryhigh framerate the camera do not shoot, only shoot 1 image. I cannot changhe the tipe of shutter while the camera in in very high framerate. I change to other mode and can change the shutter type. I have try with the three modes (hybrid, mechanical and electronic) but nothing happens, cannot shoot at very high framerate.
Advertisement Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Hi Paco Rosso, Take a look here ¿Why my SL2 cannot shoot at high speed frame rate?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kobra Posted April 23, 2023 Share #2 Posted April 23, 2023 Can you be more specific? Which shooting choice exactly are you shooting when you say "high framerate" and get this issue? And, how does the camera work when shooting at a lower framerate? For example, if you shoot at "continuous - low" how many shots can you take? If that mode is also only 1 then there is obvious issues. But, try to work your way up and see how your camera works in each mode. Then, what are you using for SD cards? Have you tried a different one, or a different brand? If high frame rate shooting is important, then I would recommend a very fast UHS-II card (I currently use Sony UHS-II as they have the fastest write speeds) I've not had issues with my SL2, but I also do not use "continuous - very high speed" at all. It works fine on "continuous - low", but after a couple of dozen frames it will slow down and wait for the buffer. This is not a sports camera and to some the continuous shooting would be bad, but it serves my purposes very well. What you are describing, though, seems very different. Let us know! Paco Rosso Posted April 23, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted April 23, 2023 Hello Brad, "Very High" is the last option in the menu, it is 20 fps. Maybe I will never need to shoot in that mode but the camera is new and I if it is a fail.... The camera shoots fine in other modes. The cards I try are 270MBs and 300MBs. The "burst" is only ONE image. And the shutter makes no noise in this case.
kobra Posted April 24, 2023 Share #4 Posted April 24, 2023 Ok, got it. Yes, at the highest rate it is electronic shutter only. I just grabbed my SL2 and blasted away... it looked like it only took a couple images, but I checked the memory card and it took 25 images before the buffer slowed it right down. That is with a Sony UHS-II Tough SD card. So, you are definitely experiencing an issue compared to my SL2. However, as noted, I do not use this option at all (this test was the very first time), so I cannot say what other settings in the camera might affect this. I would suggest this; -make sure you are running the latest firmware -backup your user profiles -reset the camera back to factory defaults -format an SD card in the camera, and finally run the test again and see what results you get I will be interested to see if you still have an issue after that; hopefully not! You wrote "The "burst" is only ONE image" Did you check for multiple images in playback mode on the camera or Display Multiple Recordings at once: Press PLAY button on the back of the camera and you see one single image then, Turn front wheel dial counter-clockwise to see multiple images: Welcome, dear visitor!
