Ivar B Posted November 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the latest issue of LFI, the performance of the 4 Summarit lenses was briefly tested and compared to the M siblings S-Lux 35, 50 and 75 and the Apo-2/90. The S-cron 75 would probably have been a more natural choice in the 75mm category, but presumably the lens was unavailable. As I read the report, it is obvious that the Summarits are very good lenses. Wide open, they cannot quite reach the performance of the other lenses at f2.5 (expect the 75mm), but stopped down to 4 there is apparently little difference, except that the 50mm never reaches the performance of the S-Lux 50 ASPH. I am hopeful that the lenses will do well in the marketplace, so Leica can afford to set aside some money for future product development.
