TheEyesHaveIt Posted March 31, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I will be visiting London in a few weeks and while I've always loved photographing on my own, I thought this time it might be nice to take a workshop (group or private), especially with a fellow Leica M photographer. I certainly could learn some more tips of shooting street with the M. I had originally wanted to do one with Alan Schaller, but he doesn't seem to be responding to inquiries. Any other photographers / Leica shooters that run workshops in London I could look into? Cheers!

wattsy Posted March 31, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) The Leica Akadamie (aka Leica Mayfair) runs various courses and workshops. I have no idea if they are any good. Current programme is here. Edited March 31, 2023 by wattsy
LocalHero1953 Posted March 31, 2023 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2023 I have been on a couple of Leica Akadamie workshops that I have found useful: Available Light Portraiture, Story Telling (2 days, separated by a week's project), Photography and Creative Arts (This last title is not correct - it was to do with linking photography to music, poetry etc - a two day workshop). Most of them, though, are rather more basic. The numbers attending are small and the leaders have been good, so the prices are correspondingly high. The basic ones would be a great way to find out if you gel with a particular Leica (they lend cameras for the purpose), and how to get the best out of them. The workshops I went on were attended by a number of other experienced Leica users, some of whom I keep in touch with on social media.

Primarily street portraiture but knowing her, she could probably tailor something for you. https://www.gabriellemotola.com/ David

LocalHero1953 Posted April 1, 2023 Share #6 Posted April 1, 2023 For exhibitions and similar things there is London Photography Diary, and for potentially photographable events there is Londonist.
