Excellent service from Leica Solms

A few weeks ago I noticed a focus problem with my M8 which I figured needed a trip back to Solms for fixing. I emailed the M8.Support@leica-camera.com address and asked about the turn around time for the M8 repairs. The support person Ursula Brand-Gerheim , informed me it would be a ten day turn around. I was worried about an upcomming trip, but decided if it didn't get back in time I may make due with the DMR.

 

I sent the M8 via courier to Solms on October 22nd and they recieved it on October 25th. I then emailed Mrs. Brand-Gerheim and asked her to make sure it made it into the repair system. She promptly emailed back with the service work order number and suggested I should have my M8 back by the time I need it.

 

The camera was finished on October 31st and once again Mrs. Brand-Gerheim made an effort to get it through the shipping department so that the camera had time to clear customs and make it to me by Monday of this week.

 

The camera arrived yesterday and as I write this, I am getting ready to go to the airport and take my trip. I am taking a trip to our nation's capitol, Ottawa and a lot of the tourist activity will be inside museums, where the M8 will be well suited.
