Nick Guttridge Posted March 19, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use the USB cable with that special connection to the camera for tethering. I have a grip on the camera normally with the extra battery. The camera managed to tip over on it's side and bent the cable where it goes into the camera. Only slightly, but enough for it to stop working £ 270.00 for a new one. If I can find one! Anyone else had similar experience, it was bound to happen to me eventually. Pieter12 Posted March 19, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2023 You might try to find someone to replace the LEMO connector end. It is available through electronics parts suppliers, such as Mouser: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/736-FFA00731CN
mgrayson3 Posted March 21, 2023 Share #3 Posted March 21, 2023 Is it a 4 pin connector or a 9 pin? The LEMO connectors are not cheap, and the 9-pin is a difficult soldering job, best done by machine. I looked way too deeply into this. I'd get a new cable at list price. It sucks, but I couldn't convince Tether Tools to make one, and I don't think I'd trust anyone else. Pieter12 Posted March 21, 2023 Share #5 Posted March 21, 2023 I bought this one from a Chinese supplier on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/124381934139?hash=item1cf5bdb23b:g:j2EAAOSwvF9dtpLa It works fine on my S 006.
mgrayson3 Posted March 22, 2023 Share #6 Posted March 22, 2023 Even *I* can make a 4 pin cable. (I actually did this.) The S(007) and S3 use a 9 pin and it’s worlds harder. Good luck with whichever path you choose.
