Chris wouldn't that be either a 21 Elmarit or a 28 Cron?? I don't think there was ever a 21 Cron.

That's what everybody been crying for.

Ed - you're right! 21 Elmarit Pre-Asph f2.8... I always go confused with the Leica names...

I didn't have the CV 15 with me - have to go back...

I had an opportunity to shoot a couple of local bands last night. It was my first stage shoot. The stage was fairly dark only lit by several small spot lights but when I reviewed the images on my computer, I was stunned by the quality of them. Nothing artistic or dramatic but I am very happy with the results.

Used mainly 35mm and 50mm cron. Wide open, ISO 640, SS 1/30.

Now I know what my leica lenses and M8 can do - amazing!

cheers

I particularly like the way it handles color when the light is low

here is one from a kitchen at night with the light source being fluorescent and not that much of it coming from the right

this was taken at ISO 1250 using the 75 Summilux at f2.4

for what I like to shoot, the M8 does just fine in low light

Nothing as good as what has been posted here already but I like the light because this is exactly how the filling station looks at night. At 10 they shut down and the only light is from the streetlamp and the lights they leave on inside. Our village redid the main street and changed all of the lamps to insect friendly orange mercury.

I was amazed that the M8 captured the color balance correctly - especially because I have been having problems (the same ones everyone seems to have) with erratic white balance.

Handheld. M8. 1/8 sec. 2500 ASA. CV 40 mm at f 1.4

And I just have to post this one. The urinals in a bar in Edinburgh. If anyone knows the name (I have forgotten it) it would be great. Shook a bit but at the small size it isn't that noticeable - and the "avant garde" of the washroom really comes to fore.

WATE at 16 mm. ISO 2500. 1/4 sec. f4.

Just a teaser.

Ok, sometime I love to photograph with my M8... But if it comes to available light or as much as no light and a professional job...

Here comes my Canon 5D with 1.4/24 wide open, 1/12s, 3200Iso, plus 1,5 step in C1 so I´m higher than 6400Iso. Nightlife in a Bar in Addis Abeba. No way a M8 could have handled this...;)
