My 007 is back from Leica. No ‘red light of doom’! One thing I did notice , though - and I might be being dumb here - is that on the top LCD panel it reads M even though it’s set to AFs and the lens autofocusses. Any ideas? Welcome, dear visitor! Finally found it in the manual:- EXPOSURE CONTROL The four exposure modes automatic program (P), aperture priority (A), shutter speed priority (T) and manual exposure control (M) are selected on the Leica S with the rear thumbwheel: Setting the operating mode 1. Hold the thumbwheel depressed (≥ 1 s) • In the top panel display, the large letter indicating the set operating mode replaces the normal display. Triangles to the left and right indicate the further settings. 2. Turn the thumbwheel (all four operating modes can be reached in both directions) 😛
Pieter12 Posted March 29, 2023 Share #26 Posted March 29, 2023 Remember A is aperture-priority. If you want the camera to determine the combination of aperture and shutter speed, you want "P" program mode.

I tend to use A mode as I like to select the best aperture setting for the scene manually.

I mean, until someone puts it on an S body and dials in a different aperture setting, or will I need access to an S body every time that I want to use it on my GFX100S? Doesn’t the lens ‘reset itself’ when you turn on the S body? Tried it. Bingo! I set the 30-90mm to f11 before detaching it and then mounted it on my GFX100S. Fuji + Leica = 102MP's of gorgeousness! 🤯
