imported_peter_m Posted November 21, 2007 Share #21 Posted November 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I missed this one and the Bang... Good timing, framing and colors on both of them. I do prefer your second post with the changed color space. Peter

graeme_clarke Posted November 21, 2007 Share #22 Posted November 21, 2007 re: I followed the Olympic.org link I posted and was suprised to see the 1912 Olympics had a running deer shooting competition. Martin may have been making a point I didn't understand. The "deer" were steel silhouhettes that trundled along on a trolley on rails at right angles to the shooters. They emerged from behind a screen, were exposed for a few seconds before they disappeared behind another screen. Distance was 50 or 100 yards. The original "deer" now stand outside the HQ of the National Shooting Centre at Bisley as a historic memento of yesteryear. Cheers, Graeme

andybarton Posted November 24, 2007 Author Share #24 Posted November 24, 2007 Interesting comment, Tony. Would you consider it a good idea to let someone who's never even picked up a shotgun before, use a side-by-side gun, and expect them to have a good day? We were all rank amateurs here. Guest flatfour Posted November 24, 2007 Share #25 Posted November 24, 2007 That's an interesting point Andy. I have shot for many years and always had a side by side myself. I have used an over and under but don't like the balance - for game shooting. I do however concede that for clays a side by side is easier and probably better.
