Spoiler edge

Had a run over to the car show at Tatton this afternoon - thanks for the alternative directions Pete.

As well as lots of classic cars there were quite a few modern ones too. Sorry to relate, but I can't remember what make this is from. It's the edge of a rear spoiler. I focussed on the screw to the left and shot more or less wide open.

The car was a light metalic colour, so I decided to convert to b&w to try and emphasise this.

Hope it's not too Autotrader, or too plastic :-)

Canon 5D, 180mm Elmar, converted to b&w with the Power Retouche plugin.

Ha! Someone who knows how to use DoF in car shots- not that one can tell this is a car. :p

I like the treatment you have given this Steve.

Glad the directions worked out, we we getting soaked on the Welsh coast whilst you were taking this!

Cheers,

Pete.

Just a couple of technical criticisms...

The hard-radiused edges of the spoiler are not at all aerodynamic and would never fly in competition. Also, the exposed screw-heads and indents are a poor substitute for properly welded seams on the inside of the wing, or at the very least demand a substantial helicopter-taping to make flush.

Oh!

I thought this was the Car Forum!!!!

:)

Beautifully done, Steve. It's a delight to see you venture into this genre. We're all the better for your efforts, I'm sure.

Thanks.

Allan
