Paul_S Posted October 31, 2007 Share #21 Posted October 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have found the speed to be reasonable (for a beta) but cannot find Spot Healing Tools (available in Lightroom, Aperture, and Bibble) nor anyway to do B&W conversion (other than simple desaturation)... Good point. You know you can use bug report from the program to request for features as well.

toke Posted October 31, 2007 Share #23 Posted October 31, 2007 Why release a raw software, if nothing is working??
Paul_S Posted October 31, 2007 Share #24 Posted October 31, 2007 Yep, the Kelvin/Tint sliders and No color picker either....I´m on a Mac????? Sorry to hear that. I do not have this experience on my Mac (G5). First things first: report the bug, just a few clicks from the programs menu. Next, quick try: remove application, preferably the plist file in Preferences folder too. Then reinstall. Hope this helps. And yes, it is still beta, remember? george + Posted October 31, 2007 Share #25 Posted October 31, 2007 Yep, the Kelvin/Tint sliders and No color picker either....I´m on a Mac????? Seems to work on, ugh, Windows XP. The display on the tools is a bit squashed otherwise quite functional. Hope you get an answer for Mac-s.

Could someone enlighten me. They still appear in the colorsync folder but do not appear in the Beta 2 options. Thanks for helping. Ed
Artichoke Posted November 1, 2007 Author Share #30 Posted November 1, 2007 Okay folks, I hate to appear stupid here but I want to load the JFI Tri-x profile and david farkas' profile but don't know how to do it for Beta 2. Could someone enlighten me. They still appear in the colorsync folder but do not appear in the Beta 2 options. Thanks for helping. Ed the files are in a folder in a subdirectory of where the Capture One 4 program is located on your hard drive on mine this is c:/Program Files/Capture One 4/Color Profiles/DSLR the profile must be renamed thus LeicaM8-Kodak Tri-X.icm this works for any of the jfi lab profiles and for any other you might have used just add LeicaM8- as a prefix to the icc or icm file works perfectly
elopezso Posted November 1, 2007 Share #31 Posted November 1, 2007 Thanks! I have a MacBook Pro with an Intel Procesor. Where do I put them on the Hard Drive on the Mac so they appear on the Beta 2. They appear on the Beta now so.... Thanks a million. Ed
AlanG Posted November 1, 2007 Share #32 Posted November 1, 2007 nothis sets the color for the whole image the magenta problem only affects limited portions of the photograph & needs to be spot fixed best to use an ir/cut filter it was available in earlier versions of C1, btw I think you are talking about two different things. The lens cast calibration probably would correct for the cyan (to me they look like green) corners. The concept was to calibrate view cameras to compensate for shift/tilt settings and also to compensate for colors at the corner caused by wide lenses. You shoot a calibration image with a diffuser in front of the lens and then use that image to correct other shots that were made with that lens or that specific shift/tilt setting. In the past it only works with the Phase One backs but I think it could be a benefit for M8 users if it could be enabled for that camera. Why not write to Phase One and see if this would work and ask them to implement it. What do you or they have to lose?
elopezso Posted November 1, 2007 Share #33 Posted November 1, 2007 I figured out where I put them last time "<volume>/Applications/Capture One/Contents/Resources/Profiles/Input", but when I go to add new profiles to the same folder in Beta 2, I get a the profile can't be added as the "input" folder can not be modified. What if anything am i doing wrong? Ed
elopezso Posted November 1, 2007 Share #34 Posted November 1, 2007 Folks, Figured it out! It goes in that same folder but then you need to restart the computer! Sorry for my many missives. Ed
delander † Posted November 2, 2007 Share #35 Posted November 2, 2007 In this new C1 V4 beta2 how do you influence which camera profile is embedded when you process a dng. Photoshop tells me it is the M8 generic, even when the camera is set to ir/uv on? The ir/uv profile is there. You can specify this in C1 LE. I have the windows versions. Jfelder2@nyc.rr.com Posted November 7, 2007 Share #36 Posted November 7, 2007 I think the image quality is better on the betas, especially on noisy, low-light shots, less banding and other funky bits. The one thing I noticed in both betas, and reported the bug, is that it does something funky to the metadata. The metadata is readable in Photoshop, but it is wiped in iphoto (I use iphoto to keep jpgs of the work for everyday mailing, web, and cataloging use).
