jdos2 Posted October 30, 2007 Share #21 Posted October 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just as an example: My 90mm Summicron makes a sharp image of the moon at infinity, as does the 50mm Summicron. My 40mm CV does NOT, and in fact, focuses "beyond infinity," so my point of best focus is rather closer than the infinity mark (it works out, thankfully, to be about .12mm- the thickness of transparent tape, now stuck to the lens focus transmitting ring). Same with my 28mm CV. Thankfully, the local store had another M8 to break the deadlock. Haul it over- check focus. If it's not obviously sharp, it's either the lens or the (gasp!) body that needs some work.
