No wobble issues with my 50 Planar. It was originally intended as a temporary purchase until I found the right Summicron (I owned a V4 but didn't get along with it, no character IMHO), but after using it a few months, I decided that purchasing a Summicron would be a waste of $.

pardon my ignorance and i realise this forum is old, how do you know if the lens is developing a ‘wobble’? I’m picking up a 2nd hand Zeiss distagon 35mm f1.4 in 2 weeks. If i put it in my leica, do i turn the focusing back and forward to identify anything like a shimmer or something?

When you put it on the camera focus back and forth, then with your fingers of one hand on the frontmost end of the lens and the camera in the other, attempt to wove the lens horizontally and vertically. If it slightly moves, it has wiggle, if not it doesn't have wiggle. BTW many old lenses have slight wiggle due to their age, especially collapsible lenses. Unless it is substantial, the effect on photographs is negligible.
