nryn Posted October 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone. I hoping someone can help me. I'm having Luigi make me a new case--a full case this time. He asked that I specify the length and width of the lens I'd like the case to clear. There are 2 lenses I'd like the case to clear...the 35mm Summilux ASPH, which I have, and the 50mm Summilux ASPH, which I do not (yet) have. With the hood on, the 35 Summilux measures 67mm from the base of the camera and at the end of the hood cap, 67mm across. Could someone verify that the 50mm Summilux ASPH is no larger than these dimensions? I know that lens has a retractable hood; I wouldn't keep the hood out, obviously. And does anyone have a 50mm Summilux ASPH they'd like to sell me? I can't find one anywhere! Thanks everyone.

lars_bergquist Posted October 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 28, 2007 The total length of the 50mm Summilux at infinity, with UV/IR filter, front and rear caps, is 80mm, but the outboard length from camera bayonet, which I presume is the measure you want, is 62mm. This is because of the retractable hood of course. The old man from the Age of the Summitar
nryn Posted October 29, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted October 29, 2007 Hi Lars. Yes sir, 62mm is the measurement I'm looking for. Thanks!
