roubaix Posted October 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Starting to experiment with some papers for my Epson 3800 Stylus pro printer. Impressed so far by its characteristics. Took some shots in New York a while ago of the Richard Serra exhibit at the MOMA and was fascinated by the rust patterns of the Core-ten steel. I'm interested in printing a tryptich of the following images. Lots of papers out there, some recently reviewed in LFI. Perhaps commercial printing alternatives? Thoughts out there from the experts? BTW all images taken with M8/35cron/ISO160/Lightroom. Thanks, Peter
Advertisement Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Hi roubaix, Take a look here Papers for Epson 3800 Styus Pro/ Serra series. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jamie Roberts Posted October 27, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2007 You know it might actually be pretty cool to print these in two different ways. One would be on a really good matte paper with your 3800 to hold the contrast to a "medium" like maybe H. photo rag, and the other would be to print to a commercial Lambda using Kodak metallic paper (extremely high contrast). I think both would work. I'd forgo the standard glossy papers for this though.... but that's just me.
Jack_Flesher Posted October 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2007 My 4 favorite papers for the 3800: Mk inks: H. PR and Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art 308g (I use the H. PR in smaller sizes since the Epson USFA doesn't come small.) Pk inks: Epson Premium Luster for general purpose printing and my all-time favorite new paper (in fact, I have not been printing on any matte paper since this came out), the new Harmon FB Baryta gloss. Cheers,
