Advertisement Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Hi Kiwimac, Take a look here CLA cost for MATE. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

It is highly unlikely that Walter Mandler returned from retirement to design this lens for Leica. It must have been designed under Lothar Kölsch, as wizard already mentioned. summarity Posted November 6, 2024 Share #43 Posted November 6, 2024 An older thread, but since this is a top Google result for MATE CLA (at least for me), I'll add a data point. I recently acquired an E49 version, but while searching I came across another listing that had a CLA + coding cost breakdown in the pictures. This was for the E55 version. While my copy works very well, it's filthy (thanks to the previous owner...), thankfully the optics are fine. It's also not coded, so I'm likely going for CLA+coding for mine. If I do, I'll report back on the cost as well. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! RMF Posted November 7, 2024 Share #44 Posted November 7, 2024 @summarityGood to know about the CLA costs for a MATE. I have a late model 49mm 6-bit coded version and it works wonderfully and not really in need of a CLA yet. I do wish I had the lens hood and special thin UV filter for the lens if anyone happens to have some spares 😀. I posted this to another thread awhile back, but it’s really a different experience using a MATE and having three focal lengths at your immediate disposal, it allows me to really focus on pre-visualizing with an M in a new way and choose a focal length as you are approaching a photograph. Here are 3 photos all done within a span of a couple minutes walking around a vintage racing paddock using a MATE at 50, 35, and then 28. Welcome, dear visitor! It does block more of the RF, though. An alternative is a deep, collapsible rubber hood (search on Amazon for "49 mm Camera Lens Sun Visors - Rubber").
