Bokeh 28/2 vs 35/2 ASPH vs 35/2 IV

2nd and 3rd one. The way out of focus specular light are rendered by the first one bothers me (see in the left upper corner): too much coma ? Anyway, it make the picture look unnatural for my taste.

Also, some out of focus objects in the 1st one have a small halo around, for instance the left tree of the group of 3 on the right or the white rose on the left. Do not like it either.

In my experience the ASPH's tend to produce very predictable bokeh that is generally pleasing / rarely offensive.

The 35/2 IV, while often exceptional, has a Jekyll & Hyde personality. I agree with Pascal in relation to the way the IV deals with specular highlights. It may not be immediately obvious in the downsized JPG but you can see it pretty clearly in the 100% crop from the top left.

Your right Carsten, one set of images is definitely not conclusive. It wasn't my intention to carry out an all out test between the 35's. Your effort which also included the 35/1,4 ASPH was superb and as extensive as you can get.

I just wanted to show how the 28/2 fared relative to the 35/2's given that I have rarely seen them compared.
