atufte Posted October 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone know if the fact that the 18 ZM brings up the wrong framelines also interact with the RF/focus, mine is focusing fine, but the RF seem to "hang" or not be right, but with a measuring band i tested it from it's shortest 0.5m to 5m and infinity, and it seems spot on... would it help when i get the 28/90 mount...? which is off to JM for milling. Thanks in advance...

Alexander, I think you are talking about close focussing - if so, the thing is that the RF mechanism is coupled until 0.7m, after that the RF disengages and therefore stops moving but, of course, the lens' focusing cam doesn't and focusses as close as it is built for. Hope this helps

gwelland Posted October 25, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 25, 2007 FYI: This is what happens with the WATE too. There's a click/indent at the end of regular rangefinder coupling at 0.7m and then the focus ring (and focal length markings in grey) continues on down to 0.5m.
