The other night I did some 60 second exposures with the Q2, and anything longer than that is T mode. Am I correct that in T, once I press the shutter button, it keeps recording until I press it again and then does long exposure noise reduction?

Worth checking whether you have the latest firmware. When I first used the app to trigger the Q2, I got caught out because the camera switched to AF even though I had manually focused on something (ie without me switching the lens back to AF). I think this was updated in the most recent firmware update but haven’t used the app recently with the Q2 so can’t confirm.

I like 4.0, when I first got my Q2 used (had 3.0) I couldn't stop the swipe across the screen changing to video....now with EVF extended, it can't do that.

Just to clarify that the T mode only behaves like Bulb to a certain extent.  It has an overall time limit which halves as you increase ISO rating so that by (say) ISO 6400 you are limited to about 6 seconds. If you set the camera to +1 mode, then use the thumb wheel to extend the exposure time you will find the limit for that ISO rating.  Now increase the ISO from say 200 to 400 and you will find the longest shutter speed is now a stop shorter than before.  The T mode acts like Bulb mode as long as you don’t exceed these time limits, otherwise it just automatically truncates the exposure.

Using the FotosApp does not allow you to get around this limitation.  Bit frustrating when you want to do log exposure in semi-dark conditions.  The Leica SL2 does not have this limitation.

The math photographer YouTube channel has a good video to explain the limitation.
