Composing for widescreen format 2.4:1

Hi,

do you have any rule-of-thumb you use when composing a landscape shot for widescreen format?  Maybe using the 6x4 grid?

I use the 6x4 grid, but the subsequent trimming in Photoshop I choose the panorama format 24x65mm.

 

I hope that in a future firmware update there will be the possibility to preselect a panorama setting via live view. The Jpeg image would be cropped in camera and the DNG image would be uncropped. That would be a dream and a wish of mine to Leica.

 

The sensor resolution of the Leica M10M, M10-R and the M11 would be perfectly adequate for the panorama function.

Agreed! This would be a wonderful addition. Most likely all they need to do is enable this in Firmware as a new frameline option just for the LCD (ASC M10 like).
