I took about a 100 pictures on a trip with my d-lux 3, both in RAW and JPG. I could download the first 50 pics in lightroom without any problem, but the remainng pictures cannot be downloaded, and I cannot show any previews. I tried Aperture, lightzone, iPhoto and even under Windows XP, to no avail. Is there a way to recover these files. In the camera it is possible to preview all the pictures, so they are well recorded on the SD card.

Any views?

Samir,

It seems I've had the exact same issue with a LACIE media card reader.

I haven't found a solution, it seems to be an incompatibility between some usb readers and the last version of OSX (for me 10.4.10). AND 2Go SD cards !!!! (You do use a 2Go sd card, Am I right ? ;o) )

I finally bought a new sd card reader (Sandisk extreme 3 sd+cf), and it works perfectly. I found no info on lacie's page, but some other OSX users having that issue on apple's discussions pages.

As far as I know, the d3 files are not faulty, it's just the that the file got corrupted on the way to the computer.

So, my advices :

- If the pictures are still on the SD, use the Leica cable and try to download the pictrures again. should work (be sure not to ask Image Transfer to delete the files after download)

-You won't be able to rescue the corrupted files on your computer, I tried.

- For next use, find another reader and try it.

let me know how it works.

If you can't recover the files by yourself, there is the possibility of recovering all your data by a data recovery service. All my holiday photos where gone as the card was not readable any more. I went to my photoshop, and they send it in for recovery. A week later I could pick up a CD with all my photos.
