gogopix Posted October 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) OFcourse, we all KNOW photos are 2D. That doesn't stop many of us from appreciating, and many more of us from talking about the elusive "3-D effect" In other fora there have been thread, and I suppose here too. However, many just re hash the OOF and the in focus "pops" at you effect. Sort of fake 3-D in my mind. WHat I see in many MFDB (the big pixel-count boys) is a feeling of depth because of the way a lens/camera/processing handles the whole gamut of color-detail, edge sharpness etc. Then I saw a few in the M8, as below. It DOES seem to paint a 'reach in' feeling. It is a WA, mostly all in focus (ok, so there IS a bity of fog too) but the foreground has depth, at least to my eye. ANy other examples out there? Didnt see so much with DMR R9 but then wasn't trying. Here, the clarity (and was very little ACR processing, not even C1.) seems to halp (28mm 2.0 I think anyway, In some shots I think this effect is quite desireable. It would be nice to know which lenses are prone to this effect BTW, in the far right is the glacier we trekked in the morning, -5 C windy, not nice :-) regards Victor
