"Apparently the frame preview lever has to be moved regularly to keep it in shape, similar to the shutter that has to be fired regularly."

No mechanical device works well unless it is regularly "exercised."  Non-use is the worst thing for mechanical things.

Good night,

At the end I sent it to Paepke.
They sent me today an email and... bad news:

Quote

Enclosed you will find a repair quotation for the faults you have indicated in your Leica M6 TTL.
As a further complaint, we have found that the exposure meter does not work reliably. The circuit board shows moisture damage. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to repair the light meter. The damaged component is no longer available.

The point is:

What should I do? Repair the virefinder and make the CLA and use it like is?

The problem is the seller does not want me to give the cam back saying that I picked it up personally and the lightmeter worked (and is true, it works but as you can see this is not the problem)...

So I think I will repair the viewfinder and make the CLA and use it how it is but, what do you think?

What a bad luck with my Leicas! First problems with my M10-P which I bought new and now this!....

To be honest, I don’t need the lightmeter. I use old cams all the time without it and I know how to expose well without lughtmeter so… yes, I think I will do it.

Now we will have new lightmeters for a lot of years so…. If it breaks then I will change it.
