Puzzled about 8 bit as opened in ACS3.

I just installed Photoshop CS3. When opening M8 files using ACR, the files show as 8 bit. I remember some about the controversy re: 8 bit M8 files, but am unsure whether I have a Adobe problem, and whether I should convert the files to 16 bit after being opened in Photoshop.

Thanks for any help.

Use the link at the bottom of the ACR screen to adjust the output of the DNG file to 16bit when opening in PS CS3. You can also adjust the DPI/PPI and the color space setting there used when opening the file in PS CS3.
