After all the questions and all the great advice and help from forum members, I've bought the MP (silver) and the 50 summilux ASPH for my initiation to the Leica M system. A colleague will be bringing it to Seoul (from HK) on Sunday, and the wait is torture!

Yessss!!!

At least you get yours on Sunday, which is yjree days away. I get mine on Wednesday next, and that's torture!

Let´s make a bet:

Your next lenses will be a 90mm and the new Wide-Tri-Elmar 16-18-21.

All that will suit perfectly your next body, the M8 digital.

Let's make a different bet: your next lens will be a 35mm ASPH (perhaps a 'lux) and you won't even go near an "M8"!... :D

Cheers,

I have been using my MP for a little more than a year and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. The meter is very reliable and has never over or underexposed. I have it dropped a few times, so there are minor cosmetic problems, but it seems to be working as well as it did on the first day. M6 is a viable alternative because the price has come down quite a bit since the introduction of MP, but I opted for MP because just like you Leica fever took over me. I still have no regret about my purchase.

You will read a lot about various quality issues. Those people with "defective" cameras are always likely to complain. You probably won't see satisfied people writing about Leica that often because we are out there taking pictures. :) I don't think it's fair to judge Leica's quality issue by reading various Internet posts. Every person in every continent can complain about Leica's quality problem including those who don't have a Leica.
